It finished on Sunday 7^th December the two days of competition and entertainment organized by the Foundation Marco Simoncelli.

The third edition of the Sic SUPERMOTO DAY 2014 wished to remember Marco Simoncelli and also another pilot, Doriano Romboni, who passed away while he was on track during last edition.

The races was organized with the will to compare champions from different categories and to make the competition more exciting and varied.

Before revealing the winners of the most expected performance between Velocità and Supermoto, let’s have a look first to the MotoGP vs Superbike race where the English Christian Iddon won the first place letting his rivals behind him. 

Let’s go back now to the competition Velocità vs Supermoto, protagonists who participated were all great professionals in these two disciplines divided in pairs in order to make a velocity race of 58 laps, Sic’s number on the international circuit of Latina.

All Pilots side by side and focused on the race have only one objective, to reach the podium and race for the spectators and their friend who passed away. The holeshot is from Lukas Hollbacher. And the firsts to reach the finish line are the world champions Max Biaggi and Mauno Hermunen. It wasn’t done on purpose but it was made in 58 minutes with a best lap (for the Roman) of 58 seconds. Behind them, with 40 seconds of lead there are other champions: Andrea Dovizioso and Thomas Chareyre. The pair Leon Haslam – Luca Minutilli are just following them.

A special thanks is going to the person who participated to this event and supported the funds collection organized by the Foundation Marco Simoncelli. The official data have recorded 12’946.00 euros destined to the Foundation Simoncelli and the cheque was pick up by the great pilot’s parents, Paolo and Rossella. Moreover, 3’953.00 euros were collected for Andrea Tudisco Onlus (which protects health rights of children stricken by serious illness) and 4’218 euros for pilots’ families who really need.
